James Comey Fired, U.S. Census Director Resigns, and More
President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday. In an official statement released by the White House, it was stated that Comey’s outing is due in part to a mishandling of the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server.
“I cannot defend the Director’s handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary Clinton’s emails,” wrote Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. “And I do not understand his refusal to accept the nearly universal judgment that he was mistaken.”
While Trump maintains that Comey was fired as a result of his handling of the investigation into Clinton’s emails, many question the decision in light of a possible investigation into Trump’s ties with Russia. Read the full story from The Atlantic.
