Scribd Doesn’t Support the Net Neutrality Repeal

By Trip Adler, Founder & CEO, Scribd

We oppose the FCC decision to end net neutrality protections. Scribd started as a document-sharing service that empowers people across the world to share and find information on all the topics that are of interest to them. We’ve always believed that net neutrality is vital for an open and competitive internet. With net neutrality, everyone can have access to the internet. This disastrous decision to roll back net neutrality means that internet users are no longer guaranteed to experience the internet in an equal, fair way. The fact that service providers will now have the option to slow down or limit access to certain sites altogether and charge more for different internet speeds is a disservice to all citizens. Providers should preserve an open internet.
